JUNIOR FLAG CHAMPIONSHIP
The Scottish Junior Flag Championship is an on-course event programme providing young golfers with fantastic playing opportunities in the early stages of their development.
What is the Scottish Junior Flag Championship?
Following an in-house flag event, regional qualifiers are hosted by Scottish Golf in partnership with the Paul Lawrie Foundation, Stephen Gallacher Foundation and Junior Golf Scotland.
The aim of our Flag Championship to introduce young players to competitive golf in a fun and relaxed environment, playing ‘Flag Competition’ format.
Flag Championship Player Criteria:
Players aged 12 years old or younger on 1st January
Players with no handicap or a handicap of 37 and above

Running a Flag Event Qualifier at your Club
Club Event
Upon registration Club Event, your club will be provided with a competition pack containing resources for staging a flag event at your own club.
Regional Qualifier
The top four players from the club event will receive an invitation to represent your club at a regional qualifier. The Regional qualifiers are hosted by one of our three partners.
National Final
The top team from each regional qualifier will earn a place in the Grand Final with the opportunity to be crowned Scottish Junior Flag Champions!
Why should our Club take part?
If your Club is looking to increase the number of juniors progressing to competition play, obtaining a handicap and being retained as members, then our Flag Events are perfect for you! They provide a great opportunity for juniors to develop their game on the course in a fun and relaxed format while introducing them to scoring, etiquette and other aspects of the game. In turn, they are a great way of engaging parents and creating a buzz at your club on the day of the event.
After registering for the Scottish Junior Flag Championship, your club will receive an event pack, enabling you to run your in-house qualifying event as well as other Flag Events throughout the season as a great addition to your junior programme.
