What is Unleash Your Drive?
The Golf Foundation’s Ambition – help to change the face of mental well-being in schools by introducing golf to children from all backgrounds.
Scottish Golf’s Aim – use the programme as a catalyst to develop partnerships, create more golf opportunities and encourage more people to play Scotland’s Game for Everyone.
The Story So Far – since 2024, Scottish Golf has been working directly with schools and with Active Schools teams to roll out Unleash Your Drive across the country. So far 90 Scottish schools have signed up for the programme, with more set to join over the coming months!
What's Involved?
Fun, games-based activities for pupils to learn basic golf skills.
6 weeks of golf activity delivered by class teachers in curriculum time.
9 mental toughness tools to improve pupils’ confidence, focus and resilience.
Free or subsidised equipment, on-line training and class resources.
Measurement of impact on mental toughness levels.

New Transport Fund for Schools
Access up to £250 of funding for your school
Scottish Golf wants to ensure that participating schools have a strong link to their local golf club, whether through lunchtime clubs, after-school sessions or visits to the golf club, as this creates even more opportunities for juniors to get involved in sport.
To supplement the Unleash Your Drive programme delivery and to further support these school-club links, we’ve teamed up with the Scottish Golf Charitable Trust (SGCT) to provide funding towards transport costs for schools to visit their local golf club.
If your school has delivered the 6-week programme and is located more than 20 minutes’ walk from the local golf club, then you are eligible to apply for up to £250 towards the cost of transport for a class visit.
